Full-time and part-time students are automatically enrolled to the library and should use their student card as their library card. Leisure students should complete our Membership Form and return it to the appropriate library campus. Staff members should also complete our Membership Form and return it to the appropriate library campus.
Please give 3 working days upon receipt of your form for your card to be processed. |
Borrowing
![]() |
Students are entitled to borrow up to 10 items at a time, for a period of either 4 weeks or 1 week if the item is a short-term loan. Overnight loans are also available for some books. Staff are entitled to borrow up to 20 items at one time, also for a period of either 4 weeks or 1 week if the item is a short-term loan. Users can borrow items from all campus libraries and also return items to any campus.
Borrowed items can be renewed online by visiting the Library catalogue and logging in with your account details. |
Place a Hold
![]() |
You can place a hold or reserve an item that is out on loan from any of the campus libraries regardless of which campus you attend.
In order to place a hold on an item, the item must be out on loan - holds cannot be placed on an item that is currently on the shelves of any of the campus libraries. Holds can be placed on items via the Library catalogue
Alternatively, please ask at the library issue desk for assistance on placing a hold. |
Fines
![]() |
To ensure that all users have a chance to borrow the library's resources, you will be charged a fine for any items that are returned late, damaged or lost. The charges for items returned late are as follows:
Please note these charges are per item, so if you have borrowed multiple items, fines can soon add up to a sizeable debt. Remember you can avoid unnecessary fines by renewing your items online or contacting the library to renew your items.
Charges will also be made for damaged or lost items so please look after the items you have borrowed. |
