Composition of the Board

The composition of our board is determined by the Post-16 Education (Scotland) Act.

• Chair
• Chair of each of the board’s assigned colleges
• A member of teaching staff elected by the teaching staff of the Board’s assigned colleges
• A member of support staff elected by the support staff of the Board’s assigned colleges
• Two students appointed by the students’ associations of the Board’s assigned colleges
• Up to 10 ordinary members

Appointments to boards

Appointments to Regional Strategic Bodies (Glasgow Colleges’ Regional Board)

• Chair appointed directly by Scottish Ministers;
• Ordinary members appointed by the Chair and the Regional Board with approval from Scottish Ministers;
• Ordinary members appointed through an open recruitment process with regard to the Government’s College Sector Guidance on Board Appointments;
• Two student members

Appointments to Assigned Colleges’ Boards 

• Chairing member appointed by the Regional Strategic Body;
• Ordinary Members appointed by the Regional Strategic Body;
• Chair and ordinary members appointed through an open recruitment process with regard to the Government’s College Sector Guidance on Board Appointments;
• Two student members
