GCRB Interim Chief Officer appointment

GCRB has appointed Alan Sherry as Interim Chief Officer, commencing 1 November 2024.

Alan brings a wealth of experience in the further education in the college sector, as the former Principal of John Wheatley College, Glasgow Kelvin College and former Acting Principal of South Lanarkshire College.

The Interim Chief Officer will meet GCRB’s executive leadership needs through an expected period of major change and potential closure, following the announcement of the Minister’s stated intention to dissolve Glasgow Colleges’ Regional Board (Minister for Higher and Further Education, Graeme Dey, May 2024).

GCRB’s Executive Director left in August 2024. The role is replaced by the Interim Chief Officer, who has been recruited on a 0.4 FTE basis, with a review date of 31 March 2025.
