Glasgow Colleges' Regional Board welcomes new board members
Five new board members have been appointed to Glasgow Colleges' Regional Board.
Caroline Bysh, Sean McGovern, Darren Pirie and Andria Reid will join GCRB for an initial term of four years, until April 2028. EIS-FELA has confirmed that Jill Montgomery from Glasgow Kelvin College will also join GCRB as the Teaching Staff Trade Union Member of Glasgow Colleges’ Regional Board.
GCRB Chair Janie McCusker said: "We are very pleased to welcome our new board members, who bring a wealth of valuable skills, experience, and knowledge to Glasgow Colleges’ Regional Board.
“I look forward to working with our new board members, focused on achieving the best outcomes for the Glasgow college region's learners, staff and colleges."
Caroline Bysh is Pro Vice Chancellor for Engagement at Glasgow Caledonian University and brings experience in marketing, recruitment, international and communications roles.
Sean McGovern is former Managing Director of the Regional Aircraft Division at BAE Systems and has a background in operational and financial management in the aerospace industry, as well as several senior and non-executive roles.
Darren Pirie is Enterprise & Climate Propositions and Engagement Lead in Commercial and Institutional Banking at NatWest Group, with a background in financial services, enterprise and entrepreneur development.
Andria Reid brings a professional background in financial services, strategy and governance to the role, including her former role as Change Director at the Openwork Partnership.
Jill Montgomery, Curriculum Manager at Glasgow Kelvin College and EIS Branch Secretary, joins GCRB as the Teaching Staff Trade Union Member of Glasgow Colleges’ Regional Board.
GCRB is liaising with UNISON on the appointment of its nominated Support Staff Trade Union Member.
